    1099 correction

Client needs to correct a 1099div. Withholding was required for one dividend, but when origional 1099 was filed, they failed to show withholding

To correct the 1099, the corrected box should be checked, but what about box 1a and 1b. The correct amount was there, should that be included on 1099 correction or only show the withholding thas was omitted from origional 1099. Also, there were other 1099 dividends paid, but this is the only one that needs corrected, so what amounts are included on the 1096???

    Thanks

the corrected 1099 should look like an original. Everything that should be on the original should be on the corrected.
Believe nothing you have not personally researched and verified.

Thanks, the only correction is that there was withholding that was left off of the origional. I was not sure if I need to show the dividend amount that was stated correctly on the corrected 1099..
