Traditional IRA contribution into a SEP IRA?

New client has a SEP IRA w/Oppenheimer funds. Client eligible to contribute $5K to an individual traditional IRA. Its my understanding that an established SEP IRA can accept an individual IRA contributions. Oppenheimer did confirm that. Anyone know anything different?

it can be done, although rule of thumb has always been to segregate different types of retirement plans.
