    eFiling

Now we have to e file Payroll taxes instead of using deposit coupons.

However, if we mail a check for the PR taxes with the Form 941, do we still have to fill out an efiler application and give authority to the Federal Government to be able to transfer funds from my checking account to the Treasury Department?

    eFiling

Don't confuse e-filing with Electronic Funds Transfer Payment System (EFTPS).

E-filing is the electronic transmission of the data contained in the tax return.

EFTPS is merely having the government pull the funds electronically from a client's bank account in lieu of making an actual check payment with a coupon to the bank.

Form 941 can still be filed by paper. It's just the tax payments will be required to be paid electronically.

      Deposit requirments

I think that EFTPS is going to be required for deposits only. A business that does not need to make deposits can still enclose a check with the 941.
