    Employer Information

My very, very old HRB text says

Box 14 - Other No entries are required in this box and there are no designated codes. This box is for the employee's information only. Amounts in this box generally are not reported on the federal tax return...Generally, the amount show in Box 14 will be identified.

So,you are going to have to have your client ask his employer, get the list of codes online, get the code in question from a colleague with a similar situation, or...

This is a military pay W-2 there are a number of entitlements, allotments, thrift savings plan, special pay, incentive pay, and bonuses. Some of these types of pay, even though non-taxable, can affect certain tax credits or they maybe listed in the taxable wages but might not be taxed because of duty assignments. You may need to see the last LES, Leave and Earnings Statement, to see what the amount relates to and if there was an assignment to a combat area, which could make a portion non-taxable.
