    Home Office Deduction

If a taxpayer uses a room in his house to conduct business and it qualifies for the home office deduction, could he also include in the deductible amount, the use of the yard where the taxpayer stores lawnservice trucks and trailer?

The sft. of the yard qualify for the deduction as storage area, maybe part of taxes and mortgage. I couldn't think of any other deduction for this area.

I think the yard would be a stretch. It is not a part of the office-in-the-home calculation as it is not in the home or used as a office. It is just storage space requiring a separate storage area calculation and deduction claim. What cost could you allocate to the yard for deduction that you can't deduct anyway? Maybe gas to mow the grass. Not worth the time to fill out the paperwork. my 2¢±¼

        lots of costs

If I were in the yard biz, I'd make my yard my commercial! In ground sprinkler, green green grass, loads of flowers! I can spend a TON on a yard and call it "advertising!"
But that's the "creative" possi at work.....
